Recital 2010 Details

Recital 2010  - June 22nd & 23rd

We are excited for this event. Student will begin working on their routines in the early spring.  All students ages 3 & up are expected to participate.  This end of year performance to showcases skills & improvement.  Performing on stage builds confidence & character; it gives one a sense of accomplishment and pride.  It is a time to celebrate a year of hard work and build confidence. 

We want each student to feel special – someone who has worked with diligence, determination, and heart to achieve the goals they have set through the year.  The recital is a cultural event, much like a professional ballet or opera.  Those who participate will excel in other walks of life as the gain confidence through this experience. 

 The recital will be held at Weber State University in the  Val A. Browning Center Austed Auditorium.

Cast A: (Performance & Rehearsal) Tues. June 22nd

Cast B: (Performance & Rehearsal) Wed. June 23rd

 

The dress rehearsal will be in the morning & afternoon.  The performance is in the evening.  Refer to the Cast and Dress Rehearsal Schedule below for performance day/time. A handbook with specific details on parking, location, hair, make-up, and other information will be issued at a later date.     

 

RECITAL COSTUME

Each class will have a costume.  We take pride in providing high quality, practical, modest and affordable costumes.  Part of this fee helps cover expenses associated with the rental of the facilities at Weber State, the staff required to run the stage, sound and lights.  1/2 of the Recital Payment is due in January 2010, the 2nd half is due in Feb 2010 -  Thanks!

Show-Time Cheer:     $40.00       Show-Time Dancers: $50.00  

ST Jazz Comp Team:  $40.00     *Jazz Classes:            $60.00

 *(Jazz students need black split-sole shoes $35.00 & Tights $9 child $10 adult)  These can be the black split-sole shoes they are currently wearing to class as long as they are kept in good condition. 

Students have been measured we have already received some costumes and are awaiting shipment on more.  Costumes will be delivered in June after they are packaged with all the pieces.  Costumes are yours to keep – we do not have rentals.  Regular classes will be held through June until recital. It is studio policy that all accounts must be paid in full, including June tuition, before costumes can be picked up.  There are no refunds on tuition, costumes and other fees.

RECITAL PERFORMANCE

The Performance begins promptly at 7:00 p.m.  Students need to arrive between 6:15 & 6:30 so we can have an on time performance. 

 

RECITAL VIDEO & PICTURES

Professional Individual and Class Pictures will be taken during dress rehearsal  by Colonial House Portraits.  A professional video of the recital will be recorded.  Both pictures and videos will be available to purchase.  You are welcome to video or take pictures at the dress rehearsal.  We offer pictures & videos for your convenience.  You can relax & enjoy the performance, and have something to remember it.  No cameras will be allowed during the performance. 

 To provide a positive environment for the students, we suggest the following for audience members:

·   Please arrive early and be in your seat before the performance begins at 7:00 p.m.

·   Please turn cellular phones and pagers off.

·   No cameras of any kind will be allowed in the theater during performance.

·   Best dress is recommended.

·   Please remain seated for the entire the performance.  Leaving early or coming in and out during the performance is inconsiderate to those around you and disrupts the performance.

·   Please refrain from calling out or yelling your child’s name during the performance.

·   Not recommended for children under age 3.  If you must bring a young child, please sit near the aisle.

·   Many parents bring good luck gifts for their performer/s.

RECITAL TICKETS

Tickets are sold on a first come first serve basis and are assigned seating.  Tickets can be purchased over the phone or online.   Tickets go on sale approximately 1 month prior to the performance  at the Dee Events Center Main Ticket Office.  The ticket office opens at 10 a.m. All Tickets cost $6.00.  You can purchase tickets in person at the Dee Events Center Main Ticket office,   online at www.weberstatetickets.com or over the phone at 801-626-8500.  All phone and online orders have a $6.00 handling fee per order.  All seats have a good view, but if you have a seating preference you should purchase tickets as soon as they go on sale.

WANTED:  CLASS MOMS

Wanted: Two enthusiastic mothers to help their student’s class at dress rehearsal & the recital. No prior experience necessary, just a loving heart & a desire to help.  Class Moms are volunteer positions. Sign up in the office.

Class moms play a vital role in a smooth recital and do not need a ticket for the recital night in which they are volunteering.  Their roles are to chaperone and ensure the safety of each student at the recital.  Thanks for your help!

CHECK THE SPELLING OF YOU NAME – notify the office ASAP of any changes.

 We will take a snapshot picture of classes during class time for the recital program.  Information on that day will come later.
