Team placement day is coming up..... join one of our 3 teams!!!

Beginning - Advanced Levels Welcome!  Everyone will be placed on a team! 

We believe everyone can achieve.  We don't just teach "A" Dance we teach "HOW" to dance!!!

   See the times below for different ages and teams for Team Placement!

If you are not able to attend Team Placement day, you must call to arrange an evaluation day!  Team members are required to attend 4 out of the 8 weeks of summer classes.  You get to pick and choose which classes according to your schedule!!!

  We have awesome teachers!  Appropriate Music,

 Movements and Modest Costumes and Choreography!!!

  • Show-Time Dancers:  2-3 time a week (Intermediate - Advance)
  • Show-Time Jazz Comp Team:  Once a week (Beginning - Intermediate)
  • Show-Time Cheerleaders:  2 times per week (Cheer and Tumbling)

We have 3 Performance Teams.  A beginning prep dance team call the Show-Time Jazz Comp Team, an intermediate/advanced team called the Show-Time Dancers and a Cheer team for all levels.  This page is where up to date Performance Team  information can be found.  This page is updated monthly according to current performance team events,  competition information and special payments due. 

All Levels Welcome.....  We Believe everyone can achieve!

Team Events (2010-2011)

·        Classes for the 2010-2011 year are in session

·        Christmas Demonstrations in December the last week of classes before Christmas break.  The demonstrations are held the  last 20 minutes of class; family and friends invited!    Show-Time Dance Demos are Wednesday Dec. 15th and Cheer is Saturday Dec. 18th      

·        March 19th 2011 Northridge High School Competition for our Cheer and dance Teams

·        Jazz Game Performance 2011 - Thursday March 24th Pre-Game & Half Time Performances featuring Syracuse dance Academy Show-Time Dance, Cheer and Jazz comp Teams!!!

Show-Time Cheer Team:

(1st grade & up - 1hr. to 1 hr 15 min. 2-3 times per wk).  Beginning - Advanced Students.  Team Placement Required talk with a staff member. 

   Cheerleaders will receive instruction in cheer, dance & tumbling.  Students will learn proper technique, precision, teamwork, responsibility, and performing skills. The Cheer Team focuses on:  cheer dance movements, jumps, kicks, arm angles, voice, tumbling passes, and rallying.   These classes are offered for students on an intermediate and advanced level.  Attendance at Team placement day or placement by a staff member is required. Cheerleaders in these performing groups are dedicated to improving themselves and their team.  Students are expected to participate in the end of year recital.

Dress Code:   Team uniform is required.  No bare midriffs allowed. Check the office for details.

Show-Time Jazz Comp Team

(1st -6th grade - 1hr 15 min - One class time per week)

For beginning Students with some dance experience who would like more performance opportunities. 

   Students will receive basic dance instruction with emphasis on proper technique, rhythm, precision, coordination, and flexibility. They will learn basic dance movements and skills while gaining knowledge of dance terminology.  This comp class is a prep team for the Show-Time Dancers and will compete in spring time competitions as well as perform at the end of year recital. 

Dress Code:  Class uniform is black leotards, black jazz pants or tights, and black split sole jazz shoes.  No bare midriffs allowed. Dancewear & Shoes are available to students at discounted prices in the office.

Competition Times:  We will not know the exact time until approximately 1 week before.  We will notify you as soon as we receive times from the competition directors.  

 

Show-Time Dance Team:

(1 year of dance recommended - 5 years & up -  2-3 times per wk - 1hr. to 1 hr 30 min. depending on level.  Recommended for Intermediate- Advanced dancers.  Team Placement Required talk with a staff member)            

   Students will receive extensive dance instruction in both Ballet and Jazz.  Students will learn proper technique, precision, teamwork, responsibility, and performing skills.  This class is offered for students on an intermediate (Show-Time) and advanced (Front-Line) level.  Attendance at Team placement day or placement by a staff member is required.  Dancers in this performing group are dedicated to improving themselves and their team.  Team uniform is required. Students are expected to participate in the end of year recital.
